PISTOL - Photo Imaging Software Technology On Line allows departments to capture and print remarkably clear digital images of defendants, suspects, victims, property, accident, and crime scenes. Images are "attached" to pertinent data and linked throughout the IMPACT database. Also available to mobile units via the AMO interface.

With IMPACT Advanced Mobile OnLine (AMO), PISTOL enables a powerful interactive process. Crime or accident scene photos can be later attached to records at headquarters, and electronically stapled to the paperwork from cases that have actually been started in the field, while photos of wanted or missing persons, or lost children can be transmitted from records management database, individually or in broadcast, to the notebook computer, for use in identification, searches, etc.

Headquarters can search the person's database for physical criteria in seconds and transmit legally admissible photo images to a laptop computer, at the location of witnesses or crime victims.

  • Electronically staples photos with field notes to files
  • In-demand retrieval or printing
  • Searches for matches of physical characteristics
  • Creates and transmits photo images
  • Combines with AMO for two-way transmissions
  • Improves accuracy of identifying persons, vehicles, and property
  • Decreases impersonation and the use of false ID
